AWANA |
"Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed" is the acrostic that AWANA stands for, taken from 2 Tim. 2:15. AWANA is a youth program designed "to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him." On Monday evening from 6:55 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. we run the Sparks, Truth & Training, and Junior Varsity programs of AWANA. Each club has three segments: games, small groups, and lesson. Each segment is geared for the age of the children. |
Sparks is designed for children in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Children work in handbooks that are age appropriate to help them memorize God's Word. Sparks learn to "skip, hike, and climb" their way through God's Word. |
T&T is the Truth & Training club designed for clubbers in 3rd through 6th grade. Each handbook is built upon the last and is age appropriate. Children get excited and enthusiastic about the Truth and Training club, and many invite their friends to come. |
JV is the junior high program that helps teens make the transition from elementary school to high school. While JV retains some elements of the younger clubs; its materials, terminology, and methodology are specifically geared to junior highers. JV'ers continue to memorize God's Word but are also taught to study God's Word on their own. |
