Learning & Teaching

The month of March marks half a year since the Kruegers arrived at Maranatha and Ben began serving as the Pastor of Family Ministries. It has been a season marked by lots of learning and teaching. During this first year, my (Ben’s) desire is to be immersed in the ministries under my care and to build relationships with the many faithful people serving in those ministries. In the fall, I spent time observing each of our children’s Sunday school classes. On Mondays, I also joined in with each of the Awana age groups. It was a valuable time of seeing our teachers in action and I’m so thankful for their passion for God’s Word and their love for children. In the winter, I spent several weeks teaching the Jr. & Sr. High Sunday School, which provided many great opportunities for dialogue with the students. This coming April - August I will be teaching the College and Career Sunday school class. I’m excited to get to know these young people even better. We’re also praying about how God would grow this ministry to help us have an impact on the 30+ college universities here in the Columbus area.

This first year is essential in growing my understanding of what God is doing at Maranatha, and where we hope to see Him work in the coming years. As I seek to apply our belief that parents are the primary disciple makers of their children, I look forward to continuing to equip parents and partner with them in this great task of disciple making.
