Currently we are prioritizing our Sunday morning worship time. All other ministries are suspended due to Covid-19. We will soon begin to re-engage other ministries, so please continue to watch for updates.
The Women's Ministry's goal is to encourage women in authentic friendship with God and others. We provide many opportunity for our ladies to connect and grow in the Lord together. We also have many opportunities throughout the year where we are involved in outreach opportunities.
Each year, we go on a weekend getaway to strengthen the spiritual friendships of women, by encouraging true fellowship in obedience to Acts 2:42 and to encourage intimacy with God by following Jesus’ example in Matthew 14:22-23 and Luke 6:12. The retreat usually takes place in October or November.
The focus of Abigail's Sisters is on finding ways to encourage, support, care for, and nurture women at Maranatha, that for a variety of reasons, come to church alone. We want to make sure they know they are not alone – that they belong here and we all love them. We want to actively walk with them while they walk with Christ. We want every woman at Maranatha (even after all the years of worshiping alone, studying alone, serving alone, leaving alone, and growing alone) to be able to say with confidence: “My Savior loves me, and I am NOT alone!” He has called me by name, and I am His! If you would like to be involved in the Abigail’s Sisters ministry in some way, or you are in need of love, encouragement, and support, please contact Marcia Rice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Spring Tea provides an outreach opportunity for MBC women who would enjoy attending and/or hosting their non-MBC friends, family and co-workers at an elegant dinner which includes music and a speaker, who will share the gospel clearly in obedience to Mark 16:15. All MBC ladies are invited to enjoy this special event. The Tea usually takes place in April or May.
Have you ever wondered how you fit into the unstoppable plan of our unstoppable God? The goal of our Baby Blanket ministry is to assist the Maternity Resource Center and the Pregnancy Decision Health Center in reaching out to unwed mothers who are considering abortion by making blankets for distribution to these mothers in obedience to Proverbs 31:8-9, 19-20 and Psalm 82:3-4. Our Baby Blanket ministry is usually scheduled in January each year.
Bags of Love helps us exhibit God’s love and care for the widows, widowers, and those who are homebound by assembling bags full of goodies, toiletries, home needs, etc. and distributing them with personal visits in obedience to 1 Timothy 5:3; Proverbs 11:25; 31:20 and James 1:17. Bags of Love takes place in the first week of February.
Once each year, we send baby bottles home with our families to fill with any loose change or donations to benefit the Pregnancy Decision Health Centers in their ministry to women in crisis.
Each year we conclude our ministry schedule with an informational Preview & Prayer. During this time, we present and distribute the following year’s ministry information as well as spend time in prayer according to the model set in Nehemiah 1 & 2 and Act 1:14. Preview & Prayer usually takes place the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday in November.
